TANGELO

Kailee is 15 years old and has been singing ever since she could talk. She started taking vocal lessons with Betty Ann Northup at the age of six, and continued until she was 14. At the age of 8 she bought her first guitar and throughout the years she has taught herself to play. Just recently she decided to take guitar lessons at the Music Shoppe to further her knowledge. She loves all different kinds of music and her biggest influences are Paul McCartney and Wings, Neil Young, John Mayor, Death Cab for Cutie, Randy Bachman and Stevie Nicks, to name a few. Throughout the years she has sang at local coffee houses, Benefit concerts, Lumby Days and The Relay For life in Kelowna for the past 3 years. She is a grade 10 student at W.L. Seaton Secondary in Vernon. Kailee has a strong love and passion for music and hopes to one day become a well known singer, songwriter and pursue a career in music.

Ryan is 17 years old, and has been playing guitar and singing for 6 years, though he has never taken vocal lessons, and has only taken guitar lessons for three of those years. He fell in love with playing and songwriting immediately following the first time he touched a guitar. There is nothing that suits him better than a day spent singing, playing and writing, a guitar on his lap and a pad of paper and pen beside him. His musical influences touch all ends of the spectrum; musicians from Keith Urban to Jack Johnson, Sinatra to Billy Joel. He currently attends both Clarence Fulton and Kalamalka Secondary, where he is a grade 12 student. As part of his application for a district scholarship, he recently started recording his own demo album, which will be available for download sometime in April. He hopes to pursue his dream of performing music following graduation this year.

TANGELO: Last year, both Ryan and Kailee auditioned separately for Our Kids Have Talent, but were unable to make it to the top ten. And so this year, they’ve combined their talents, and have high hopes for where it might lead. Although Kailee and Ryan have been playing together in a 6 piece band for almost 3 years, this competition marks their very first time working together as a duo. The news of their entry into the top ten has left them excited beyond belief, and they just can’t wait to play their music! myspace
